TARANGIRE
Distinctive bulbous baobab trees are characteristic of this
beautiful park and game viewing is particularly rewarding
along the Tarangire River, which provides the permanent water
supply in the area during the dry season. The park has nine
distinctive vegetation zones ranging from grassland to woodland,
from deep gully vegetation to scattered rocky hilltops are
dramatic vistas of the Tarangire River. Large herds of elephant,
the predators and numerous plains game inhabit the park as
well as many species of birds. Tarangire is also home to the
white tree climbing lions.
NGORONGORO CRATER
Ngorongoro Crater is the world largest unbroken, unfolded
volcanic caldera 250 sq km in size and 600m deep. The crater
boasts of a blend of landscapes, wildlife, people and archaeology
that is unsurpassed in Africa. The volcanoes, grasslands,
and mountain forests are home to an abundance of animals and
also to the Tanzanian Maasai. Ngorongoro Crater is one of
the world's greatest natural spectacles; its magical setting
and abundant wildlife never fails to enthrall visitors. It
borders the Serengeti National Park to the south. As you ascend
you will notice Masai pastoralists herding their animals and
their strong insistence on their customs and traditional way
of life allow them to live harmoniously with the wildlife
and the environment.
SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
The largest National Park in Tanzania which in the north adjoins
Kenya’s Masai Mara game Reserve. One of Africa’s
best wildlife viewing areas. With an area of over 14,763 sq
kms, the park is inhabited by more than 3 million mammals,
including lion, wildebeest , cheetah, leopard, elephant, buffalo,
gazelles, antelope, giraffe, hyena, and all of the little
animals e.g. rock hyrax, bat eared foxes etc.
LAKE MANYARA
Incredibly diverse in both flora and fauna and famous for
tree climbing lions. The Park is known for its lush vegetation
and tropical forests of giant fig and mahogany trees, elephants,
giraffe, buffalo, zebra and variety of antelope inhabit the
park as well as a variety of monkeys and a large population
of hippos. The park is also home to many species of bird and
is one of the few places you will be able to see the comical
ground hornbill.
